After my first child was born I was thrust into the world of figuring out how to care for my daughter’s health. She suffered from internal bleeding in her GI tract at three months old. After three days in the hospital and months of visiting every kind of specialist in both western and natropathic medicine, I started cleaning up our diet and products we use on our bodies and in our home.

I have tried a lot of brands and a lot of products. I recently found Earthley and have really loved their transparency of what they use in their products and have been impressed at the ingredients. Earthley products are also very affordable which is a huge blessing for our budget without sacrificing quality.

I have tried and love so many, but here are my top five for SUMMER!

No. 1 Black Drawing Salve Stick - $5.49

Bug bites are the worst! The itching can drive you mad! But you’re not supposed to itch because it makes it worse! What can you do? Try this inexpensive salve! It has bentonite clay and charcoal in it to help draw out toxins and stop that itch! Great for mosquito bites, ant bites, stings, poison ivy and more!

I LOVE this salve and I love that it’s safe for my kids too!

NO. 2 Pest-Aside Natural Bug Repellent $4.99 - $14.99

Ok. So I really love summer but I really don’t like mosquito bites. The skin absorbs anything you put on it and bug sprays are FULL of toxic chemicals. I’ve tried natural ones, I’ve tried bug bracelets, and I’ve even made my own bug spray with citronella essential oil (which worked pretty well). But Pest-Aside smells great, goes on easy, and I don’t have to worry about my skin absorbing this repellent. It does melt easily in the summer heat, so I use my fingers to dab some out of the tube and rub on legs, necks, even some on hair and clothing. A little goes a long way!

No. 3 No More Yeast Salve $7.99 - $12.99

Yeast is a beast. Yeast overgrowth in the gut is called Candida, but you can also get yeast problems on the skin especially in the summer. If you have itchy skin, athlete’s foot, any kind of fungal rash, this stuff is the bomb. It has neem oil in it, which smells like french onion soup - it’s interesting - but is such a great salve for battle the yeast. I’ve even used this salve on eczema. I have the smaller jar and it’s been great to have on hand (get it - on hand ;).

No. 4 Magic Muscle Ease $7.99 - $12.99

Do you have sore muscles from working in your garden? Doing summer sporting activities? Camping? (Seriously - sleeping on anything but my bed makes my hips throb.) My husband says this is like icey-hot but better. It has cooling peppermint and wintergreen as well as magnesium which is really important in soothing sore muscles.

No. 5 Mineral Deodorant (Natural Deodorant) $3.49 - $11.99

I have tried a lot of natural deodorants. First of all, they are expensive. And second of all none of them work like good ol Old Spice. That stuff will cover any odor ha! So here’s my honest opinion - I like Earthley’s natural deodorant better than any I’ve tried. The lavender scent is amazing - I wish it was a perfume it’s so lovely. It’s like aromatherapy in my underarms. I think it does a pretty good job, although, again, nothing is quite like the chemicals in store bought deodorants. There is also no baking soda to irritate your skin and is made with arrowroot powder and magnesium flakes. Two great ingredients for the pits! You can try an inexpensive sample size, or get a full tube, which costs the same (and less) to other natural deodorant brands.

If you liked this list, check out all Earthley has to offer! I’ll be making another list soon as I work through trying the tinctures!

(One more thing . . . the pictures belong to Earthley - as I type, it’s night time and no one wants to see my grainy photos ;)
